Microsurgery Fellowship

The UCLA Microvascular Fellowship offers post-residency subspecialty training in microvascular surgery. Candidates must have completed a plastic surgery residency and demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in academic medicine.

The surgeons at UCLA Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery provide reconstructive support to the Revlon/UCLA Breast Center, performing both immediate and delayed breast reconstruction to post-mastectomy breast cancer survivors.

Fellows fully participate in the flap team, refining their abilities under the microscope while assisting in upwards of 180-200 free flaps per year.

Fellows are expected to facilitate resident education, attend monthly didactic and Morbidity & Mortality conferences. Fellows may be called upon to assist with resident supervision and to participate in non-micro reconstructive cases as their schedules permit.

Additional information can be found on the ASRM website. Get match information »

The fellowship is non-ACGME accredited and is model on a one-on-one apprenticeship rather than a formal didactic curriculum.
